Summer Job

Ok people I thought I was woman of many talents. I thought I had the ability to multi-task on a high level and it has come to my attention that this is not turning out as I thought.
I figured this out when I realized that my plants have not been watered in 5 days. Oh, do they need that?
So I apologize if I am out periodically these next 2 weeks. I am helping out at a local convention and apparently even sleep isn't on the agenda. Who needs sleep?

Reupholstering is something that I claim I can do. I can't tell you how many chairs I have bought going oh I'll just recover that later. Out of about the 10 I have bought 1 has been recovered and it was a wooden chair with a detachable seat. I know.
Me and the staple gun are friends. Anything beyond a good ole staple it down to the wood I have discovered is way out of my league. So to all those people who charge $200 to reupholster...I don't think you are lunatics anymore.
Thanks to this discovery though us normal people can at least have a chance of making our Craigslist finds bright and new. I bring you Fabric Spray Paint. Thank you for helping my self-esteem.

I have been collecting toilet paper rolls. Not because I think they are cool but I saw an art project on Pinterest and I wanted to try it. It's a weird thing to collect as it much confused my husband and my guests as I screamed Don't Throw That Away in terror. Awkward.
I have found you can always fix the awkwardness by saying well I saw this thing on Pinterest ... and it's like everyone just shakes their head and understands.
But then I saw this an my heart is torn. Do I make art or add organization to my life?
The almighty question...to organize or not to organize.

Surprise Vacation to Boston

Vacation brain is a crazy thing. I had my bags packed (about an hour before I left mind you), magazines to read, semi-comfrotable but cute shoes on and liquids in the baggies.
Take that TSA, I was ready. Except I totally forgot I had a blog and Etsy shop until about 8 a.m. the next day.
Whoopsie. Good news was I had lots of fun and even sold a wreath while I was on vacation. Boom.

Might I recommend Boston to anyone and everyone. It was cool in more ways than one. I saw whales, and amazing old history things, enjoyed the weather, and even ate seafood (which I am normally not a fan of).
Vacations makes you do crazy things.

I don't like doing laundry. Although I can very much guarantee that there is not a single person in the world who does. If you do...let's talk. 
I am actually doing laundry as we speak and it took me about 4 hours to talk myself into it. So simple yet so difficult. So the thought that something crafty could come out of something so hated seemed not plausible. 
Yet Pinterest has done it again working their evil magic. Making a Tide bottle into a watering can.

Though I think I would spray paint the Tide bottle and not rock the logo.

My Monday #19- Cricut Machine

So many people like to make fun of me because I am a self-confessed sweepstakes addict. Though I figure I could be addicted to way worse things like shopping...oh wait. But here is my theory. If you  enter a TON of sweepstakes you WILL eventually win. I may only come out with like a free pint of ice cream but hey...I won. And I will update my facebook and brag. Humble I know.

So when the local Michaels had their grand opening yesterday and had a contest to win a Cricut machine... duh I entered. And guess what?

Everyone has heard of IKEA. I mean that store is about as dangerous as Target, except IKEA shoves all the ideas into teeny tiny rooms and somehow makes you want to live there It's a skill I am still trying to figure out.
Seeing as IKEA is almighty and amazing it NEVER occurred to me that you could hack or rearrange the things that are already created. Who messes with perfection? BUT this idea is so genius and SIMPLE. You could stain it like they have or even just paint and add the brass fronts.
You can file all those bills in style. It takes the sting off a bit.

My Monday #18 - Shop Slump

Today is going to be one of those - well that didn't quite go how I planned kind of posts. The hard thing about being a crafter is that you believe in your items and you love them a whole lot.

This isn't the Gap where if people hate it - whatever - put it on the sale rack and move on. Blood sweat and tears went into making those items. Though you get lots of "likes" not so many sales.

So i thought to myself either I sit here and pout about it or I google the almighty internet and find an answer. Google it is (with ice cream - at 8 a.m. ....)
